Can’t dive without them

My name is Andrew, and I am a fan of Darkfin gloves and Black Lagoon products. If you don't know about these gloves, I hope one day you realize what you've been missing. This is my story and how I came to know the DarkFin glove.

In 2013, four friends and I planned a Spearfishing trip to the Bahamas. One of the items that I took with me were a new pair of webbed DarkFin gloves I wanted to try out. They made a world of difference in my speed and gave me a substantial advantage over the friends I was diving with. I was always ahead of the group and always got first pick of the reefs we were hunting. The advantage was so noticeable that my nickname during the trip became “the selfish hunter”.

I was so fascinated with the product and the performance I contacted Black Lagoon and submitted a video review of my personal experience with the gloves. Before long, the owner, Roy and I began a great friendship. I learned more about the company and the hard work it takes to make each one of these webbed gloves. Over the years I kept in touch with Roy and his daughter Colleen, sharing pictures and videos of my freediving adventures.

I spend my summers as a commercial salmon fisherman which gives me the freedom and opportunity to dive in some of Earth’s coolest places. When I am not diving in Alaska, my wife and I freedive together wherever we can travel. Our darkfin gloves are a staple for our diving adventures. That is why we were devastated to learn Roy would no longer be able to manufacture his diving gloves.
